My little princess is 5! How time flies by soo fast! There was no birthday celebration for her and there was also no cake for her on her birthday! Her birthday was 2 days before Hari Raya and I was busy completing my cookies and cakes order...so, I really didn't have the time. Poor little girl. My sister took the opportunity to celebrate her children's birthday while they're here, although Yana's birthday has passed and hadif's birthday is months to come! She requested for edible images on the cake and cupcakes and additional cupcakes for the Happy Birthday candles (I put them on the cupcakes stand to save space). I made chocolate moist for the cake and blueberry vanilla for the cupcakes. The kids had lots of fun at the kids sport gym! This design was chosen by my sis in law for the bride. She likes the lilies around the roses as they are different from the typical 'hantaran' cakes available. I've made the same one like this before except for the color is different and this time my lilies are perfect! Yellow is the theme for the 'hantaran', so, I made yellow roses and the original white lilies. The yellow color makes the cake look elegant! I brushed the flowers with gold color pearl dust to make them look more outstanding and shining. Hope the bride will like it. Thanks Leny (my sis in law) for the order!

It was Mother's day last Sunday and I thought that there would be no orders but I was wrong! This was actually a last minute order from Ina for her family gathering on last Sunday! My eldest son celebrated his birthday in his class this year! No party for him! I made 55 pieces of large chocolate moist cupcakes for him to eat them with his friends & teachers. The boys and only some girls get the Ben 10 cuppies while other girls get the sweet pinky cuppies.

Then we also celebrated his birthday with his 2 cousins at my mom's house. He wanted peanut butter cake with the bionicle image on it...but 1st, of course I can't draw it and 2nd, no time to send for printing the edible image! So, he had decided with 1 of the Ben 10 Alien Force's alien..the 'humungasour'!! Hahaha..I had to google for it because I didn't know how it looks like! And when I did....you can see it on his cake! I'm still amarteur and I did my best to follow every single lines...and this is how it turned out! He did complained because he said Ben 10 alien force is not green!!! it's actually blue!! hah...so what! The cake was already completed! Anyway, Happy Birthday son, keep up the effort!

I was kind enough to draw the Patrick on the other cake. The patrick loooks ok for a first timer, though the color is a bit darker... but girl's first impression was "wahhhhh, cantiknyerrr" then she went on and said "dia takda kaki ohhh"!! Aida's wedding...Congrats!

I can finally breathe after I've completed this 3 tiered cake!! and I just can't take my eyes off the cakes! (heh..perasan lagi!!) When Aida first showed me the photo of the cake she wanted, I just said yesss! I took up the challenge to make this 3 tiered fondant cake with lots of roses and her 'hantaran' cake with tiger lilies! I think they're about 35 roses..different sizes on the cake! and they were all hand made and I can say that I can now receive orders for gumpaste roses! :)

These cakes were transported to Kota Tinggi Johor...and they safely arrived there. These photos were taken after I assembled them at home...they were put in different boxes for transportation of course!

These cuppies were ordered by Aiza for the first time. Our sons were in the same class last year and that's how we got to know each other. This year they are in separate classes, so, we seldom call asking for homeworks anymore! But Aiza called me the other day asking for my cuppies.

Anyway, since this is her first oder, she told me that the icing is a bit sweet! Well, it actually is but no doubt that some kids just like them! My son can just eat & lick the icing without cakes! :)

Course 2 Finale

After more than a year, I decided to continue with the second course by Wilton. The second course teaches about royal icing and making flowers from it. I've used royal icing before and I've made roses and lilies from royal icing before but there are also flowers like daisies, daffodils, violets etc...etc that just need the right techniques to do! So, that's why I attended the class.

Anyway, here's the final cake that all of us are suppose to make. I made lots of daisies and apple blossoms, but only used a few since I can' fit all on the cake! haha...

This cake was kept for a week so that I can use the same cake to celebrate my parents' anniversary! okla tu....

But as usual...our 'guru's' drawing was simple the best! The way he drew it....it looked sooo easy! and he did it very fast too!! (guess which one!!)

Barbie Doll Cake

My girl always requests for this barbie doll cake. Now finally! I'm able to make this cake! It was not that difficult after all, but the works are a bit tedious...This cake was made from scratch! 4 layers of different sizes of cakes and then trim it all around! Mine turned out ok, baribie's skirt is just the right size...and my roses turned out good too! But, as usual..the 'guru's' cake is of course the best!

Yup, this cake was made during my class on last Sunday..and YES...it's for sale now! So, if you're interested, just email me or call me....price depends on the flavor and design! I will use the Wilton Barbie dolls only. They're a bit expensive, but the quality is much better than the cheap ones!

Pretty BARBIE 4 Alya Mysarah

This is the first time I made this Barbie 2D cake. My sis in law asked if I can make the Barbie doll cake for Alya and I said that I could try! Buttt....I'd rather not! Wait till I go to the barbie doll cake making class first!

Anyway, I remembered that I have this 2D Barbie pan that I bought last year and still haven't used it yet. So, I offered that Barbie instead..and she said ok! So, Ok...deal!

So this is how it looks like! It was kind of difficult to ice the cake smoothly at the top and at the sides, so I decided to pipe the top with star tip and the sides with the basketwave tip! I think it looks much better! Tapi, sungguh lenguh tanganku!

Alya just loves those colorful hearts deco sugar, so I put them a lot on the cake! She loves my buttercream icing too!! She has not seen this yet as of now...can't wait for tomorrow for the guests's comments on the cake!

p/s: If anyone is interested, you may order, but the barbie face is not sold together. I will only lend you the face and you need to return it back to me after your fu'nction.

My mom's birthday is actually tomorrow and she'll be 62 this year! I didn't know what I was thinking about when I wrote her age on the cake...as you can see..it's 63! huhuu..Sorry..sorry bonda...without intention!

Anyway, I baked vanilla cake and mixed in the fresh blueberries. Layered the cake with blueberry filling and iced the cake with buttercream icing. Put some blueberry filling on the cake in the middle and decorated the cake with red roses. The roses look great! don't you think? hehehe....But I think the cake looks more like a wedding cake than a birthday cake! Hmmm...it looks gorgeous & lovely anyway!

This order was not actually directed to me. My collegue passed this to me because she's not into cuppies. She's a cookie person now! hehehe..

Anyway, Shidah wanted 70 pcs of cuppies with barbie & bumbleebee edible images for her sister. I had a bit of difficulty when ordering the edible images due to the time factor! It was my firt time actually but luckily I was able to get it in time!

Having these edible images on the cuppies saved a lot of my decorating time somehow! But, I had to spend some time cutting those little pictures though! I made extra 2 as you can see at the very right bottom..just to fill in the gap!

I think they look very cute and sweet...Sayang pulak nak makan gambar-gambar tu...but I hope the kids love them! thanks Shidah for your order!

I really can't stand the aroma and smell of the cakes that I baked last nite! Felt so tempted to eat them! Baunya sedaaaap..wangi...buatku teringin nak makan! So, I made a cake for myself! I used the same vanilla recipe...dumped in some choc chips...just to try and walaaaah ...jadi jugak vanilla cho chips ni. Fid ordered 2 sets of hantaran cupcakes, and 1 set of medium size cupcakes for makan2 before her kenduri. Obviously, she got to choose both designs for the hantaran! hehehe...pandai...

The gold theme is from the groom and the blue theme is from the bride. Fid gave me the designs and I just followed them.

But, the lilies are a bit unique...something different from roses! Her hantaran flowers are lilies, so she asked me if i can make lilies for the upcakes too. I said why not!

The lilies are made from royal icing...in white, and brushed with the blue color pearl dust. I like the lilies more! I think they look more elegant! But it took more patience and hard work! The roses are in yellow actually, but I colored them gold using the pearl dust too!

Fid, glad to know that u liked them and they have safely arrived at your hometown! Please email me the final pictures of the cupcakes in their pretty boxes ya!

I think my Barney cake is starting to get famous! :) This was an order by Usha. Her friend recommended my cakes and that's the Barney cake that she ordered. Usha wanted a different cake initially but I really can't make it within a very short period. Really sorry for that.

This is actually a 2tiered chocolate moist Barney cake! The bottom tier is a big oval size cake and it's the biggest cake I've ever iced! I also piped the surface with the star tip. This cake looks like Barney in a frame from the top! The yellow color for the background was a right choice I think! I tried to make is as colorful as possible and I think I did.

This cake was heavier than I thought! I think this Barney cake is so gorgeous! Really can't take my eyes off the Barney! Anyway, thanks for your order! Do come back anytime....

Tonite was the moment when everyone was around! But, not for long...It was a celebration for my sis in law's returned from Aussie and also a farewell for my sister who's going back to Dubai. My brother is back shortly, accompanying his wife and kids and will go back to Aussie next year! So, my Mom requested me to bake a cake for the ocassion! It was also to celebrate the birthdays of the December babies...that includes me! hehehe

I really had no idea of what cake to bake! Too much baking other people's and can't think of my own! Anyway, my sister said ok to chocolate oreo. So, I baked the cake. When it was time to decorate..again I was blank! But then I decided to use chocolate ganache, instead of buttercream icing. It was at the very last minute that I iced the cake...I had headache and couldn't even get up! So, makan ubat...tido..and felt relieved!

So, here's how the cake looked like...the kids were so excited & can't wait to cut it and eat it when they saw it! hehehe...

Mama Day ordered the cheesecake from me again...this time it's for her 3rd son's birthday. Walaupun laki & 2 org anak teruna jauh di kampung..dia tetap nak makan kek jugak! hehehe...
